Babe 18 Renovates, ReinvigoratesBabe 18 is reopening on 7/2, this Saturday! Being good enough to draw an average of 900 people per night every weekend is apparently not enough for the daughter club of Room 18. In honor of its 5 year anniversary, Babe 18 has spent millions of dollars and 20 days (long for a club... consider how much they make on a normal night!) renovating, in hopes of reinvigorating the Taipei clubbers so that they turn up in swarms and surpass an average of 1000 people per night.

2. The lighting is new. There is now a sound-controlled LED lighting system that becomes brighter the more sound it detects. Kudos to Babe 18 for having the confidence to allow its customers to control its brightness!
3. New drinks. While the old drinks are still there, there will be some special new drinks to commemorate the reopening. What's Staying the Same?1. the DJs. Seems Babe 18 music already knows how to cater to the tastes of its clients, so it fortunately knows better than to change a good thing.2. The bartenders. While it's always been an 18-thing to constantly cultivate new bartenders, the original set-up of there bartenders will stay the same. What's Evolving?1. The price. This is the point that's of the utmost importance, and the reason why it's listed as evolving is that while there is a change, it is slight enough to make very little difference (and no difference at all for girls). Babe 18 has always been an all-you-can drink club, with the only fee being its entry fee, and below is a before/after comparison. WEDBefore 12: Guys $500/ Girls $100 => Guys $550/ Girls $100 After 12: Guys $500/ Girls $300 => Guys $550/ Girls $300 THU Before 12: Guys $500/ Girls Free => Guys $550/ Girls Free After 12: Guys $500/ Girls $200 => Guys $550/ Girls $200 FRI & SAT Guys $500/ Girls $400 => Guys $700/Girls $400 SUN Before 11:30: Guys with student ID $200/ Girls Free => Guys $500/ Girls Free After 11:30: Guys $400/ Girls $200 => Guys $500/ Girls $200
2. The Target Audience. Babe 18 has always been known to cater to a younger, college-age audience, but as it has become more and more established, people in their mid and late twenties have become more receptive. Based on the new renovated look, your correspondent believes that this trend will become more palpable as time goes on.
