Taiwan Poker Tour is back for "Season 3: It's Alive!". After two very successful runs in 2009 and 2010, which made TPT the most favorite poker event amongst foreigners in Taiwan, the Co-Founders
Rich Schuster and
Mike Brennand are getting the band back together for TPT 3!
The kickoff event will be held on
Thursday, February 17th 2011, at the brand new On Tap, at 7:00pm.

How the League Works
The Taiwan Poker Tour is about LEARNING, PRACTICE, and FUN! Players participate in FREE No Limit Texas Hold Em Tournaments at participating venues around the island to accumulate points. At the end of each season, top point earners gain entry to the final tournament where their points determine their chip stack. Players in the final tournament compete for the grand prize -- airfare to Macau for two. Players can check the current season’s point standings on the
Taiwan Poker Tour Website.
Season 3 Basics
"Season 3: It's Alive!" will be 12 weeks long, with two tourneys each week. Top point earners will play in the League Championship, where a new champion will be crowned! As always, it is absolutely free to play and beginners are welcome!
Time
The Kickoff to "Season 3: It's Alive!" will start at 7:00 pm. You can register on site anytime after 5:30. TPT will introduce additional ways to register in the coming days, along with some sweet player features, so stay tuned!
"You will want to get to On Tap early next Thursday, Feb. 17th", says Rich Schuster, Co-Founder of the TPT, "We'll be having some fun prior to cards flying, and Mike Brennand (Co-Founder) has promised to buy everyone at least 5 free drinks ... I may have misheard him though; he may have said he expects everyone to buy him 5 free drinks, I'm not sure".
Prizes
TPT have secured a Pokerstars Sponsorship (
read more), as such there will be weekly poker related prizes and a huge prize for the season champ (and runner ups).
Rich, says: "In addition to weekly prizes, we are beefing up the Season 3 Championship prize. We are not quite ready to let the cat out of the bag on the exact nature of the beefed up prize, but the announcement will be made in the near future. Suffice to say that this will definitely be a championship prize package worthy of a season-long race!"
Pokerstars operates several poker rooms around Asia, including the Poker Room in Grand Lisboa, Macao and TPT originally announced a trip for two to Macao as Season 3's grand prize. We don't want to speculate though and leave it up to your imagination to guess what PokerStars might throw into the mix for the grand prize.
The Venue:
According to Rich, one of the primary problems in making TPT 3 was the lack of an awesome venue. "On Tap was great, but we struggled to fit in more than 30 people. We are incredibly excited that TPT 3 will be hosted at the new
On Tap bar located at No 21, Alley 11, Lane 216, Zhongxiao East Road, Taipei, Taiwan (106台北市大安區忠孝東路四段216巷11弄21號)."
"We played a few weeks at this location during Season 2, and the venue itself is fantastic. Problem in Season 2 was the location wanted us done by 10, which was unsuitable for most of you drunks and degens. Now, the cool guys at On Tap have moved their pub into this venue, and we will be taking advantage each week."
Tell your friends and check the
Taiwan Poker Tour Website at least one time per day, as TPT will announcing developments, point structures and new features throughout this week and weekend.
