2.    Spring Break On the Beach (April 6 - 7)

IN SHORT: Beach Berserker in the Sexy South

"A 5 Star Resort, a 12,000-strong crowd, on the Biggest Weekend of the Year, at the Most Popular Beach town, on the Best Island in the World."

Launched by Kaohsiung club Brickyard a few years back, and also with new partners Triangle, Latino's Taiwan and Elektro,  this wild party takes the best from the US' Spring Break and Europe's Ibiza and somehow morphs it into an event showcasing the wild spirit of Southern Taiwan.

For those who don't know, the South of Taiwan is much friendlier, uninhibited and tropical in nature than cool Taipei, and for many longtime expats here, an undiscovered paradise.

Each year, over 12,000 people flock to idyllic Kenting to party go berserk on Chateau hotel's private beach.

Unabashedly sexy and politically incorrect, Spring Break On The Beach is Taiwan's most inclusive and Western-style festival, with local and international acts spinning anything from house, reggae, dancehall, latin to island beats in whatever genre you can imagine. The aim is to have the most fun whilst wearing as little as possible!

LINE-UP:

The 2018 Edition is headlined by  Ibiza resident and Balearic babe B. Jones (Pacha, Mambo Ibiza) whose gypsy beats will treat Taiwan to the original Ibiza spirit.

Also on the menu are some of the island's biggest expat DJ's,  such as Famous, Robi Roka, Cross Cutz, NeKBRACE, and Cola.

The fun starts early each day, with day-time live acts, DJ's, beach soccer, ultimate frisbee, volleyball and even a BJJ tournament. There's also an open bar from 3PM  with 3 full hours of free drinks. After sunset the beach is converted into one massive dance floor stretching all the way into the water!

The organizers' mission with Spring Break is to push what is culturally accepted here in Taiwan in the right direction. And have as much fun as possible at the same time.

Want a free ticket?

Post a selfie in a bikini here.(guys are also very welcome!)

If it gets more than 80 Likes, you get free entry to the whole festival.

Getting There

Skip the high-speed rail and take the NeKBRACE Party Bus instead!

3. Spring Scream 春天吶喊 (4 - 6 April )

IN SHORT: Taiwan's Woodstock

Spring Scream is Taiwan's biggest indie rock music festival. The story is legend by now how two foreign musicians started this event to foster local independent bands and provide a platform where they could perform to big audiences.

This year they're changing locations, moving from Kenting to the lush inland Kentington Resort (小墾丁度假村), which is about 30 minutes away. The venue looks  incredible.

Unfortunately there is no on-site camping this year, but cabins can be rented.
As usual, the 2018 line-up features a seriously ridiculous abundance of indie music riches from Taiwan, Japan, Korea and local expats.

The 2018 lineup has over 30 bands and DJ's playing on two main stages, with amazing food, craft beer, a pop-up vinyl DJ stage, art installations and booths, circus performers and new surprises!

5.    Organik 2018 (April 27-29)

In short:

Best of Taiwan's underground scene on a secluded beach.

ORGANIK is Taiwan’s most progressive outdoors electronic music festival.

Now in its 6th year, this 3-day Taiwanese music festival is unique and garnering more attention worldwide thanks to its amazing natural location, world-class line-up and alternative crowd.

As in previous years, the 2018 edition will take place on a stunning secluded beach in Hualien on Taiwan’s undeveloped East Coast and offer a feast of high-brow, non-mainstream techno and house music. Best of all, you can camp on the beach.

Organized by Smoke Machine (who hold frequent nights at Korner), Organik 2018 promises another amazing experience with an eclectic lineup of local and foreign DJ’s such Barker & Baumecker (GER), Powder (JPN), Dorisburg (SWE) and Diskonnected (TW)  ready to once again connect the crowds with music and nature.

Swimming is prohibited after certain hours, but camping on the beach is allowed. Taiwan's coastal beaches are full of dangerous currents and drownings are frequent, so please follow the organizers' instructions to stay safe.
