B1 is the latest hip underground club for Taipei, opened in October 2018. In the wake of the the ownership change and rebranding at Korner, many of the city's best promoters have now shifted their parties over to B1. Catch some of the best techno, house and drum and bass that Taipei has to offer on the weekends. The owner and manager are promising big things for 2019, including a possible expansion for bigger parties, so stay tuned in for that.
Located near the Jenguo and Civic Boulevard intersection, the basement room is spacious enough, with an intimate yet electrifying atmosphere and friendly crowd and bar staff. Cover charge ranges between 300-400 with a drink, depending who's playing. The nightclub's minimalist decor and lighting and energetic crowd brings to mind a popular small underground club in some Berlin or London alley.
Upstairs on ground level, there is a huge vacant pavement with benches where dozens of visitors will often sit and socialize.
B1 is definitely one of the hippest places to visit in Taiwan for 2019 if you're aching for some really good European house or techno instead of the EDM drivel you'll find everywhere else.
