We're back at Sappho Live Jazz for August's Story Slam event and this month the theme is: Liar Liar!
Ever told a lie? (Spoiler, if you say no, you're a big fat liar!) Was it a white lie? A noble lie? A fib to get out of trouble? Or something more sinister? Bring your tales of deception as we set our pants on fire!
NB This month's Slam is on a Wednesday rather than the usual Thursday.
Here's how it works:
Storytellers have up to ten minutes to tell a TRUE, personal story fitting to the theme which will be judged by volunteers from the audience. They will be judged on their ability to adhere to the time frame, tell the story without the use of notes or props, use the theme and tell a story that has a conflict and a resolution.
The storyteller with the top score of the night will go on to compete with the year's other winners in the GrandSlam Championship

Don't have a story to tell? Maybe you do! Often people come to Story Slam not intending to share a story but then get inspiration. If so, no problem! If you find on the night that you have a story you'd like to share, just let the host know!
